A natural
pool without chlorine
“The main idea was the well known “pond”, which
was appropriate for northern regions but not really for the
Mediterranean,” declared the chief of construction Michael Walde,
who has been living and working for more than 20 years in Spain.
“Our aim was absolute naturalness, very little care, individual
design and the possibility to transform already existing pools into
natural pools.”
Dipl.
Architect Albert Baumgarten, responsible for technical planning and
development of natural pools, is quite proud of his mature project:
“We are capable to transform any existing pool into a natural pool.
The cleaning of the water is achieved by an exactly calculated
number of water plants which do not disturb the bathing – pleasure,
because they are separated from the swimming- area and a special
biological cleaning technique. We get the plants from different
countries where they are cultivated especially for us. We are
intending to combine the utility of the plants with an highly
decorative design.”
Belinda
Apelt is responsible for the individual pool-design. “ Each client
gets the pool he wants to have. It’s our aim to move boundaries and
to search for new ways in technique and design.” Mrs. Apelt has been
working for more than a decade in the Iberian Peninsula . Beginning
on the Balears Islands she moved five years ago to Andalusia. “The
product “nature pool”, for me does mean much more than a swimming
pool. A natural pool does not only serve for refreshment or sports,
but means an oasis of recreation.”
One of
the main reasons to transform a normal pool into a natural pool, is
the saving of money for the maintenance, as the experts of the
Centro-Casa-Team assure. Michael Walde confirms: “ During the first
year already, we bring the costs down about 80%.” The maintenance
exists in the monthly cleaning of the skimmer filters and refilling
of the evaporated water.”
Another
advantage for the general public, Walde would like to comment:
“Especially in Spain we should not renounce of natural pools,
because the permanent exchange of the pool water would save millions
of cubic metres of precious and expensive water.”
